You’re only as great as the last great thing you did…

Elizabeth Gilbert muses on the impossible things we expect from artists and geniuses, and shares the radical idea that, instead of the rare person “being” a genius, all of us “have” a genius. It’s a funny, personal and surprisingly moving talk. —TED

This is most certainly something i’m sure many creatives can relate to as either artists or designers. It’s amazing how the first question I’m always asked at an art opening is, ‘so what are you working on next.’ It sure would be a different dialogue if more people enguaged in the arts, truly understood the highs and lows of the creative process, and the amazing amount of courage and conviction it takes to put your work ‘out there.’

Subliminal Pepsi logos

Will drinking diet Pepsi actually make you slimmer as subliminally implied by their new logo?

In juxtaposing the diet logo with the standard logo it becomes fairly clear that diet = slimmer, thus Pepsi is influencing your decision subliminally. I would be really curious to know if consumers even notice this sort of thing consciously or not. I have a feeling Pepsi might have some really interesting data on this.

Personally, I’m a sucker for the diet gimmick and drink only diet soda even though I’m fairly certain it’s slowly poisoning me.

I just ran across this amazing new typeface, Colo Pro from FontFabric for only $29.

This must be the ‘new typography‘ that i’ve heard so much about… seriously though, FontFabric is producing some tasty vittles, I may have to throw some cash their way. Kudos FontFabric, i’m sold.
